Roller burnishing is a chipless finishing method different to grinding, honing or lapping. Surface roughness value of roller burnishing operation is less or equal to these abrasive methods. Even the values are equal, roller burnished surface is smoother than the abraded surface because chip generating operation leave sharp projection in the contact plane for these abrasive methods. A workpiece with diameter 30mm and length of 100mm can be burnished in 10 to 15 seconds. No expensive investment are required. Your parts will gain more mechanical advantages such as corrosion resistance, increase in surface hardness, ect.
Yamato offer economical method for sizing & finishing of metal parts. With roller burnishing, surface finishes as fine as 2 micro inches (0.05 micrometrs) achieved in seconds. Yamato was started in 1985 for internal and external roller burnishing tools. Today, different application are developed and studies by Yamato. For the internal roller burnishing tools, Internal ROBUTO, the range from dia 5.000 to dia 200mm. For External ROBUTO, the range from dia 3.000mm. Others than this, Yamato also developed Single Roll Multi Diameter Roller Burnishing Tool, Radius Burnishing Tool and Flat Face Roller Burnishing Tool.
